Renowned throughout the world as one of the greatest and most distinctive heavy vocalists metal of all time, Bruce Dickinson is best known as the leader of the iconic band Iron Maiden since 1981, a group that has sold over 100 million records. He is also known globally as an author, pilot, broadcaster, brewer, successful businessman, sportsman, lyricist, screenwriter and solo artist international.
His first solo album, Tattooed Millionaire, was released in May 1990, which was followed by Balls To Picasso in 1994, on which occasion he started working with guitarist Roy Z; despite a recording hiatus, they have continued to collaborate on all subsequent albums: Accident Of Birth (1997), The Chemical Wedding (1998) and Tyranny Of Souls (2005).
Shortly before his third album, Skunkworks (1996), there was a historic event in Dickinson’s career: he toured with the band in Bosnia, occupied territory and devastated by war. The documentary that followed, entitled Scream For Me Sarajevo, became an award-winning film and soundtrack album in 2018. Bruce Dickinson was named an honorary citizen of Sarajevo in 2019, when he visited the city for the last time. Despite touring and recording with Iron Maiden, Dickinson found time to publish her autobiography in 2017 considered by the Sunday Times as a best-seller, What Does this Button, which he subsequently presented An Evening With live events around the world Bruce Dickinson.
His desire to give birth to another solo project has always remained second plan but finally in 2021 Dickinson had the opportunity to make it happen. He once again turned to Roy Z to work together on some unfinished ideas, which quickly became his seventh studio album, The Mandrake Project, which will be released in early 2024, by BMG.
This album represents a very personal and personal journey for me I’m extremely proud. Roy Z and I planned, wrote and recorded it for years and I’m really excited for people to finally hear it. I am still more excited to hang out with this amazing band we’ve got together up together, to be able to bring it to life. We are planning to play the major possible number of concerts in as many places as possible, for the greatest number of people possible! As for what The Mandrake Project actually is…everything will be revealed soon!
