Some festival announcements just make complete sense. When Barefoot Country Music Fest dropped the news that RILEY GREEN is returning to the Wildwood shores for June 2027, the collective reaction online was a massive collective nod of agreement.
He played the Jersey Shore festival back in 2023, but if you saw him then, do not expect a copy and paste job this time around. Back in 2023, Green was already a crowd favourite with an impressive string of hits, but he was still climbing the ladder. Fast forward to today, and the Alabama native is coming back to Wildwood Beach taking his rightful spot as a full blown headliner.
THE RISE OF MODERN COUNTRY’S AUTHENTIC OUTLAW
If you have watched RILEY GREEN’S trajectory over the past few years, his promotion to the top spot at Barefoot feels like an absolute victory for traditional, no nonsense country music. In an era where the genre constantly flirts with pop gloss and heavy production, Green has stuck firmly to his guns. He sings about hunting, grandpas, heartbreaks, cold beers, and simple southern values with a raspy tone that sounds straight out of 1990s Nashville.
Since his last visit to Wildwood, the stats speak for themselves. With seven number one singles, a fresh stack of ACM and CMA awards, and a massive new record, he is operating on a completely different level. Recent fan favourites like Worst Way, his duet You Look Like You Love Me, and the title track of his latest album Don’t Mind If I Do have cemented him as one of the most reliable hitmakers in the business.
Yet, for all the awards and chart success, his biggest draw remains his live show. There is zero fluff. No unnecessary gimmicks or forced banter. He walks out with a ballcap, a guitar, and a band that hits like a freight train.
SAND, SURF, AND I WISH GRANDPAS NEVER DIED
There is a specific kind of magic that happens when you put thirty thousand country fans on a sandy beach with a cold drink in hand. Wildwood Beach has become one of the premier summer destinations for country lovers across the East Coast, and Green’s catalog is practically custom built for that exact backdrop.
Imagine the atmosphere when the sun starts going down over the Atlantic and the intro to I Wish Grandpas Never Died or There Was This Girl starts floating out of the main stage speakers. Green even released a track recently called Beach Happy, almost as if he was dropping a subtle preview of what he plans to bring to New Jersey.
He joins an already stacked top tier for 2027, sharing the headline billing alongside powerhouse CARRIE UNDERWOOD and the recently reunited FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE. It gives the four day weekend a proper balance of pop country royalty, high energy party anthems, and Green’s rugged, backporch authenticity.
WHY YOU NEED TO BE IN WILDWOOD FOR 2027
Barefoot Country Music Fest runs from 17th to 20th June 2027, and with three huge headliners already locked in, tickets are moving fast.
Seeing Riley Green headline a stadium is great, but seeing him sing rowdy country songs on the sand with your toes in the ocean is a completely different animal. Summer 2027 cannot come soon enough.
