JUDAS PRIEST have confirmed their return to Masters of Rock 2027, promising fans a chance to experience one of heavy metal’s most enduring bands as they work on the next chapter of their remarkable career.
The Birmingham legends will bring their unmistakable sound to Vizovice next July, with new music on the horizon following 2024’s Invincible Shield.
With more than five decades behind them, JUDAS PRIEST remain a force to be reckoned with, their twin-guitar attack, towering vocals and leather-clad attitude helping define heavy metal for generations.
From Breaking the Law and You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’ to Painkiller and Electric Eye, their catalogue is packed with songs that have become part of metal’s DNA. Their return to Masters of Rock promises another chance to celebrate that legacy, with the tantalising possibility of hearing material from their forthcoming album.
For a band that has influenced countless artists and helped shape the sound and image of heavy metal, this is a major addition to the festival.
TEMPERANCE BRING THE SYMPHONIC POWER
The second announcement takes things in a different direction, but keeps the ambition firmly turned up. TEMPERANCE, the Italian symphonic power metal band, will also perform at Masters of Rock 2027.
Their arrival comes hot on the heels of the release of Arcani, their eighth studio album. Built around tarot symbolism, the record connects its songs to the cards of the Major Arcana, weaving an elaborate concept into the band’s trademark mix of melodic metal, symphonic grandeur and multi-vocal interplay.
TEMPERANCE have developed a sound that balances soaring melodies with muscular riffs and cinematic arrangements. The new album pushes that identity further, giving the band fresh material to bring to the stage and another opportunity to show why they deserve attention from fans of modern melodic and symphonic metal.
With a new record to showcase, their Masters of Rock appearance arrives at an exciting moment for the band.
A HEAVYWEIGHT SUMMER IN VIZOVICE
These two additions join a line-up already featuring SLASH FEATURING MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS, BRUCE DICKINSON, SKILLET, AMARANTHE, LORD OF THE LOST and THERION, who will celebrate their 40th anniversary with a special show.
There is plenty more for fans to get stuck into, including SEPTICFLESH, LAGWAGON, NERVOSA, EMIL BULLS, DARTAGNAN, SAMURAI PIZZA CATS, DIE HAPPY and MELISSA BONNY. The range runs from classic heavy metal and symphonic spectacle to punk rock, modern metal and darker extreme sounds.
Masters of Rock returns for its 23rd edition from 8th to 11th July 2027 at the R. Jelínek distillery grounds in Vizovice, Czech Republic. With JUDAS PRIEST bringing the promise of new music and TEMPERANCE arriving with a fresh album of their own, the festival is giving metal fans plenty to look forward to.
