Country music is heading back to Rotterdam in March 2027 as Country 2 Country returns to RTM Stage for two days of live music, big names and plenty of Nashville flavour.
The sixth Dutch edition of C2C takes place on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th March 2027 at Rotterdam Ahoy, with two very different headliners leading the way. ASHLEY MCBRYDE takes centre stage on Friday night, followed by JELLY ROLL on Saturday.
It is a compact version of C2C, but there is plenty packed into those two days.
ASHLEY MCBRYDE OPENS THE WEEKEND
Friday’s line-up has ASHLEY MCBRYDE at the top of the bill, bringing her distinctive blend of country storytelling, rock influence and straight talking songwriting to Rotterdam.
She will be joined by COOPER ALAN, CARTER FAITH, BLAKE WHITEN and MACK GEIGER, alongside a strong selection of artists appearing on the CMA Spotlight Stage. LATE NIGHT THOUGHTS, OWEN RIEGLING, BELLES and BEC O’MALLEY will also perform throughout the day, giving audiences the chance to discover some of the newer voices coming through the country scene.
It is a line-up that moves between established names and emerging talent, which has become one of the most appealing aspects of the C2C format.
JELLY ROLL TAKES OVER ON SATURDAY
Saturday brings a completely different energy with JELLY ROLL headlining.
Few artists currently sit quite so comfortably between country, rock, hip hop and southern storytelling, and his appearance gives the Rotterdam weekend a very different flavour from Friday’s programme.
DASHA, EMILY ANN ROBERTS, KASHUS CULPEPPER and DREW BALDRIDGE are also on the main line-up, while GREYLAN JAMES, LACI KAYE BOOTH, COLIN LYNCH and CHANDLER WALTERS feature on the CMA Spotlight Stage.
For anyone looking beyond the headline names, Saturday could prove just as interesting as the main event itself.
MORE THAN JUST THE MUSIC
Part of the appeal of C2C in Rotterdam is that the festival has grown into more than a series of concerts.
Visitors can expect line dancing, food and drink, country fashion, boots, hats and other lifestyle stalls alongside the music. There are also appearances from Rotterdam businesses including Schorem barbershop and Stay Classy tattoo studio, adding a distinctly local touch to an event rooted in American country culture.
That combination is what makes the Rotterdam edition interesting. It is not simply Nashville transported to the Netherlands. The festival has developed its own identity within the city.
And Rotterdam is a fitting home for it.
The city has never been particularly interested in standing still, with its modern architecture, busy port and distinctly urban character providing a very different backdrop to the traditional image of country music.
TWO DAYS, TWO VERY DIFFERENT MOODS
The decision to split the headline duties between ASHLEY MCBRYDE and JELLY ROLL also gives the weekend a natural sense of contrast.
Friday promises a more traditional country and singer songwriter flavour, while Saturday has the potential to be louder, broader and more genre bending.
Both nights, however, share the same central idea. Country music is no longer confined to one particular sound, audience or location.
C2C has been reflecting that change for years, and the 2027 Rotterdam line-up continues the trend.
With the doors opening in the afternoon, there is also plenty of time to explore the wider festival atmosphere before the headline performances arrive. The standing floor and balcony seating at RTM Stage give the event a more traditional concert feel, while the surrounding C2C activities make it feel considerably bigger than a straightforward two night show.
For two days in Rotterdam, C2C is set to turn Ahoy into a little corner of Nashville, while still allowing the city around it to remain unmistakably Rotterdam.
