Z! Live 2027: The First Bands Are In – And It’s Looking Huge!

ZLIve 2027 Spain

There are bigger metal festivals in Europe, but few have quite the same character as Z! Live Rock Fest. Held in the historic Spanish city of Zamora, the festival has grown from a small local event into one of Spain’s most appealing metal weekends, while retaining its friendly, intimate atmosphere.

The 2027 edition takes place from 17th – 19th June, with additional events around Zamora and Salamanca from 16 – 20 June. With ten bands already confirmed, the line-up is beginning to look very impressive.

Z! Live 2027 line-up so far:

• Edguy
• Stratovarius
• Korpiklaani
• Primordial
• The Night Flight Orchestra
• Conception
• Virgin Steele
• Trollfest
• Bloodhunter
• KOS

It’s a line-up that covers a healthy chunk of the metal spectrum.

German power-metal favourites EDGUY bring Tobias Sammet’s unmistakable mix of melody, humour and huge European metal anthems, while Finland’s STRATOVARIUS should deliver one of the weekend’s standout power-metal performances.

Fellow Finns KORPIKLAANI will provide something rather different, bringing their energetic folk-metal sound to what should be one of the festival’s biggest parties. Irish veterans PRIMORDIAL add a darker and more atmospheric edge, blending epic metal with folk and black-metal influences.

Sweden’s THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA offer another change of pace. Their flamboyant mix of classic rock, AOR and disco makes them one of the more unusual and potentially entertaining bookings on the bill.

Progressive metal fans have CONCEPTION, while traditional and epic heavy-metal devotees can look forward to American veterans VIRGIN STEELE. Norway’s wonderfully chaotic TROLLFEST will bring their eccentric folk-metal party to Zamora, with Spanish extreme-metal outfit BLOODHUNTER providing something considerably heavier. KOS round off the ten acts announced so far.

And that’s the important part: so far. More bands are still to be announced.

From a small festival to a major metal weekend

Z! Live began in 2016, when its first edition featured eight Spanish bands, including Warcry, Sôber, Hamlet and Leo Jiménez. What started as a relatively small event has steadily grown into an established fixture on Spain’s metal calendar.

That growth hasn’t come at the expense of its identity. The festival has always placed a strong emphasis on the audience experience, while the city of Zamora plays an important part in the weekend.

That is arguably one of Z! Live’s biggest attractions.

Rather than being isolated from its surroundings, the festival spills into the city. Bars, restaurants, streets and squares become part of the experience, creating an unusual contrast between Zamora’s historic architecture and thousands of metal fans arriving for a weekend of loud guitars and late nights.

It’s a setting that gives Z! Live a character of its own.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2027
Following increasingly ambitious editions featuring major international names, Z! Live has promised that 2027 will be its biggest edition yet. The first ten announcements certainly suggest the organisers are serious.

With EDGUY, STRATOVARIUS, KORPIKLAANI, PRIMORDIAL and THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA already confirmed, the festival has a strong foundation – and there are still more names to come.

For fans looking for a European metal festival that combines established acts, interesting bookings and a genuine city-festival atmosphere, Z! Live 2027 is certainly one to keep an eye on.

The festival takes place in Zamora, Spain, from 17–19 June 2027.
