With MAGMA and LAVA, the team behind MELT Festival presents two brand-new event formats set to shake up the Berlin summer – while also signalling the beginning of something entirely new. On Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August 2025, the first kick-off events will debut, transforming the open-air grounds of RSO Berlin into a space that blends the intimacy of club culture with the immersive energy of a festival.
MAGMA is aimed at lovers of sophisticated club music beyond the mainstream. On Saturday from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, MAGMA brings an explosive mix of UK garage, house, breakbeat, future bass, trip hop, baile funk, dancehall, disco, and experimental club sounds to the open-air stage. Alongside international masterclass DJs such as BEN UFO, NOORIYAH, JYOTY and CRYSTALLMESS, standout producers MURA MASA and VEGYN (DJ-Set) will also perform. MURA MASA captivates fans worldwide with his multi-genre approach and is particularly known for his eclectic sample-based sound. Also appearing: VEGYN – known for his work with Frank Ocean and the recently released and acclaimed remake album Moon Safari (Air). The line-up is rounded off with exceptional acts such as ANZ, SUZE IJÓ, INVT (LIVE), ANU and trip hop vocalist ALIAS ERROR (live).
Sunday belongs to LAVA – a platform for young ravers and lovers of electronic pop and dance music. From 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, attendees can look forward to a carefully curated programme blending hyper-pop, trance, hard-groove, and avant-pop, blurring the lines between internet culture, club music, and pop innovation. The line-up includes: French duo ASCENDANT VIERGE, who have set new standards for club music with their epic Eurodance, operatic vocals and apocalyptic pathos; as well as HORSEGIIRL, whose ironically charged high-energy sets oscillate between hard techno and dance-pop. Other exceptional talents such as CAMOUFLY, CHARLOTTE PLANK, COCO COBRA, LOLAHOL, DJ G2G, NICK CHEO, PETERPARKER69, ⌭ ICEMORPH ⌬, LIL LONDON and ICYKOF will create a sonic cosmos bringing fresh impulses into the world of electronic music.
Both events are not only a celebration of summer but also mark a transition – from the internationally renowned MELT Festival to new, intimate formats with their own identity, yet the same attitude. The mission remains unchanged: carefully curated avant-pop and DJ culture, international artists, a diverse audience, and an experience that stays with you.
The RSO Valley in Berlin provides the perfect backdrop. With its urban charm, powerful sound systems, and central location, the venue becomes the stage for these two special open-air kick-off parties. Here, raw club aesthetics meet the summery vibe of a festival – right in the heart of the city.
MAGMA and LAVA are more than classic club nights. They position themselves as compact open-air festivals: eight to twelve hours of finely curated music from international artists, food stands, chill-out areas, and an atmosphere focused on connection, exchange, and community.
