Eagles of Death Metal & Avenged Sevenfold to Rock For People 2025

Eagles of Death Metal play Rock For People 2025

Californian heavy metal giants AVENGED SEVENFOLD are the third headliner of the anniversary edition of Rock for People 2025. The band is clearly recognizable thanks to their diverse sound that crosses the boundaries of rock and metal and the dramatic illustrations on their albums, of which they have eight in their career. With memorable live performances, the band has shared festival stages with fellow stars such as Slipknot, Slayer, Disturbed, Korn, Alice in Chains and The Offspring, and played as main support on Metallica’s 2017 WorldWired summer stadium tour in the US.

To date, AVENGED SEVENFOLD have sold over 12 million albums worldwide and earned two consecutive No. 1 albums on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart (2010’s Nightmare and 2013’s Hail To The King) to go along with over a billion video views and a billion-plus Spotify streams, as well as multiple No. 1 singles on rock radio.

The band (comprising M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance, Johnny Christ and Brooks Wackerman) are equally known for their spectacular live shows, selling out arenas and headlining the world’s most prestigious rock festivals as well as always being at the forefront of rapidly changing technology, cultural mile markers, and new ways for communities to engage.

The collaboration of lifelong friends Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme, EAGLES OF DEATH METAL grew from a side project into a full-fledged band with a riff-heavy, tongue-in-cheek identity of its own. Despite their name, the band’s music is a revved-up blend of garage rock, boogie rock and hard rock, with elements of glam rock, blues rock and swamp rock added in for good measure. Their quickly recorded 2004 debut Peace Love Death Metal introduced Hughes and Homme’s music at its scrappiest, while later albums such as 2008’s Heart On and 2015’s Zipper Down took a more polished, but still brash, approach.

Following the terrorist attack at their 2015 show at Paris’ La Bataclan that killed 89 people, EAGLES OF DEATH METAL persevered, with 2019’s covers album Eagles Of Death Metal Presents Boots Electric Performing The Best Songs We Never Wrote reflecting the music that offered Hughes solace in the wake of the attack.
