
The Zurich Openair is a music festival near Zurich Airport on the grounds of the municipalities of Rümlang and Opfikon. The musical spectrum includes indie, electronic and rock music and includes a mix of internationally known musicians, bands and newcomers. The festival site covers around 95,000 square meters and offers a campsite for 3,000 tents. In 2017, the event attracted around 80,000 visitors over four festival days.
From August 27 to 29, 2010, the Zurich Openair took place as a three-day open-air festival under the motto “Festival Excess, City Access” and was the first Swiss festival to be presented by the music channel MTV.
